As part of the UK government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, if you receive a qualifying benefit and your boiler is 10+ years old, you may be entitled to grant funding towards a brand new A-rated efficient boiler.

The boiler grants are funded by the energy companies and don’t need to be repaid. Free boilers are funded by the ‘Affordable Warmth’ part of the Energy Company Obligation.

Grant funding is currently available for Gas boilers, Oil boilers, LPG Boilers and electric storage heaters.

Who is eligible for a grant?

You can be either a homeowner or a private tenant; and a permanent resident within the property needs to be in receipt of a means-tested qualifying benefit, such as:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carers Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Working tax credit
  • Child tax credit
  • Pension credit
  • Job seekers allowance
  • Universal credit
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment and support allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment Allowance
Boilers and Storage Heaters

A free energy assessment will need to be carried out on your property to calculate how much funding we can obtain. In some instances a small contribution may be required towards the cost of installing the new boiler.

Having a new, more efficient boiler installed will save you money on your bills (an average of £350/year). It will reduce your carbon footprint too, so you’ll know you’re helping the environment as well.
